I playeed a little bit more tonight after the movie, because I just felt so good about my earlier session.  I did not get as many oppurtunites in general to 3-bet, plus I had a fair share of pocket pairs, so my PFR is a little lower, but that is okay.  Played well again.  Had a small +EV situation hold up, as my flopped broadway stood up against a set of queens (villain flatted my raise OOP preflop, noted sir!).  I ran at over 21 PTBB/100, but actually thought I ran kinda cold still.  I had 6 big pots basically.  Nothing really too in depth to describe, but I will put them in here anyways.  Since they are very straightforward and no interesting spots popped up in this really short session, I will throw these hands in here for fun.  Kinda crazy that I ran at such a high winrate, yet felt like I got the short end of the stick today.  Hey, I will take it, it was fun!  I was not even getting annoyed by it for some unknown reason, lol.  More progress!!  btimm-doooooozer!!!

Hand 1:  Hold on!!

Hand 2:  Stupid turbo table almost made me time out, hence the push on the river.  I would have liked to size a bet that could be called here.

Hand 3:  This villain chased ANY draws, I already had notes of three different times chasing and once in particular, the villain paid another player preflop, flop, and turn with garbage (J3 preflop, gitshot on flop and turn).  This villain also had a river aggression factor of infinity.  I felt I was so far ahead of his range on the river, that I checked to induce a bluff.  Give the villain’s tendencies, I feel this is a cooler.

Hand 4:  Perfectly played, as I felt I would not get worse hands to call, but could get them to bet, as villain only had about a pot-sized bet left behind.  2-outed on river.  Ouch.

Hand 5:  Villain’s first hand at the table, no prior history.  Especially a cooler given that I have to call, getting 30:13 on my money and I clearly have the odds to call, committing no more chips.  Therefore, horrible bet by villain.  Also a cooler, given where I stodd after the flop.

Hand 6:  This hand I was a little unsure about.  I decided to raise the flop, hoping to get a free turn card.  I did not get that free turn card and was forced to fold without proper odds.  But should I raise this flop against an unknown villain?  The initial limp makes me think the only hands that would bet out here would be sets and flush draws.  Given the low likelyhood for a flush draw, since I hold a flush draw myself, I wonder if raising in this situation is +EV.  The villain took away my odds by making a good bet, and at that point, it would be tough to get away QQ+.  Good bet by the villain on the turn, I think.

Could have been a good bit better if not for some tough beats there.  I am pretty pleased with my play so far, after really trying to make better plays.  I am looking forward to my sweat tomorrow, should learn a good bit and reinforce these good thought processes.  Also, two games between the Avs and Wings coming up in February.  Look to see Jason’s blog featuring some more lovely Red Wings posts if he decides to continue to ante up!  :-)
