Not with poker results this time, lol. I did play about 300 hands, but made like $4 to run at 3 PTBB/100, nothing came up. No big hands either way, I think I had 2 showdowns in total, because either I had nothing and had to fold and the villains had nothing and had to fold. That is fine though, just a stagnant period.
Good news, because a poker group is starting! I am “leading” this new group that consists so far of myself, ladymuck, and appleseed. We are trying to get one more dedicated player and sent a PM to citizenwind on CR. Edit: citizenwind has turned to this request. This is going to be a very good thing. The group has decided to start off a little light to kinda get a feeler about how to progress from where we are. Our first group sweat will be on the 11th at 8pm. We don’t have a group blog page as of yet, but may explore that option down the road. For now, we are going to have whoever played during the group sweat write do an overview of what happened on that particular night. So look forward to a blog entry on the 12th from yours truly! This will most likely be done during the day at work, lol, as the 12th is my wife’s birthday. We are also going to be doing 1-on-1 sweats and videos at our discretion. Personally speaking, I am hoping to get in 1 group sweat and 1 1-on-1 sweat per week, with AIM discussions about hands and strategy and emails intermixed during the week.
This is going to be a very good group. I have a good feeling about it, because I can tell from my discussion with Ian and John that they are dedicated to improving and we should be able to help each other a good bit as we progress up the limits. I would also like to extend a thank you to LuckySOB and dodgyken for both the inspiration to get a group together and also for suggesting that the three of us get together and start this group.
This is getting cut short due to the lack of interesting hands from today and also that I need to go eat dinner in an hour or so before my wife and I head out for a Super Bowl party. I don’t really care about either team. I am pulling for the Giants though, because I want to see them crush the Patriots. I went to Tennessee and am a big Peyton Manning fan. It would be funny if the Giants won, because I really just hope that Eli Manning says in his press conference, “Hey bro, that was easy, what took you so long?!” lol I do predict that NYG’s great pass rush will pressure Brady. And he will make some mistakes. I also predict that NYG will be able to run the ball on New England. Because of these two reasons, it will be a close game. New England will still win. When you come this far, 18-0, sheer determination to win and all the motivation in the world for perfection will not let New England lose. I predict that New England wins yet again, 27-23.
