Alright, well, this month to say the least was a struggle. I ended the month down almost 3 buyins. However, May starts a new month, with renewed hopes and more dedication to improving my game. I will say this much about April – I learned a lot about the game and really did focus on watching many videos, reviewing hands, talking poker with friends, and generally working my tail off to improve. And despite the poor monetary results, I did feel like I learned a lot in April. I felt that I did improve as a player and am super comfortable at $100NL on any site. I still have much to learn and will always work on improving, but I do feel like I learned how to open up my game especially in late position. I feel like I am more comfortable in 3bet pots. I feel like I can trust my reads and put players on hands better. I feel that while I have gotten quite down at points this month, I do feel like I can control myself much better than I could one month ago. I can take bad beats and coolers and move on to the next hand. I still get frustrated, of course, but overall, I am much improved in the mental department as well. So despite the negative monetary results, I am focusing on the positive results in the improvement in my game. Also, I am not sure exactly how much rakeback I will be getting, but I can guess that it should be a large enough some that the poker results and rakeback should net a positive result, even though I expected much more. On the bright side of the monetary side, this month didn’t help my BR grow or help me move towards eventually playing 1/2, it didn’t hurt it after rakeback either.
I am going to post a few figures here in this post with some stats from the month now.
Total rakeback for the month was $300.
So hopefully with some really hard work, I can learn even more in May! Here are my goals for the month, I should be able to accomplish these goals:
- Play 20,000 hands
- Watch no less than 4 videos per week
- Review hands after every session
- Do 1 sweat per week minimum
- Review 75 hands minimum on either Card Runners or Leggo forums
- Make sure Balbomb and grivey on CR know that I find them to be annoying
- Help my friends when they need advice on a hand (I think I might be getting good enough to where this actually has some merit now)
- Exercise more!
I am pretty sure that these are very attainable goals for me. Hopefully, I will reach these goals and hopefully that will allow me to improve more!

Looks like you were +6 buy-ins over the last 10k hands of the month. I’m sure May will be better results-wise.
My May goals for you:
1. Get less frustrated.
2. Win money.
