Okay, so I am running into big time blocks with my top 5s and am way behind. I am going to tell you all my top 5 favorite golf shots I have ever hit in my lifetime. Not the best shots always, but favorite shots, as the two do not coincide. For example, the three times I have come within 6 inches of holes-in-one, all rolling right next to the edge of the hole, none of these make the list. In fact, no shots from my 63 (-9) or 29 (-6) are on this list! So here it is! Any ideas for top 5s, let me know, as I am running super short on ideas.

Just a really cool shot I remember that I enjoyed puling off. I was sitting about 195 yards away from the hole after my tee shot on a long, difficult par 4. A tree was between myself and the green, some 20 yards or so in front of me. It was quite a thick tree as well, but I noticed an opening of about 2 feet in width and about 10 feet high, 5 feet off of the ground. I decided to hit a draw through that opening to see if I could run it up to the green. I don’t know what possessed me to try this shot, but what I can say is that I pull these shots off far more often than I fail, I probably succeed about 80% of these weird shots I try. I did hit it right through that slot and it ran up onto the front edge of the green. I made par, but if I was forced to pitch out, I probably make a 6 instead for a double bogey. It just was an excellent shot that I played very well and made me feel like I was Tiger Woods or something. lolz

Routinely after practice in the summer (we finished practice by noon), most of us would go back out on the course with a partner for some 2-man scrambles games. I always took my partner Jason Teets. He was not a particularly long hitter or great player (we tried to make fairly even teams), but he putted well enough and he always hit the ball in play, which allowed to me to grip it and rip it without fear of the repurcussions of a poor shot. Everyone threw in $5 and it was a winner take all format. We had 9 groups that day and three of us were tied after 9 holes, so we went to the 10th hole for a sudden death playoff. The 10th hole is a 320-yard par 4. I was a senior by this time and had really developed much of my game. After Jason hit his ball in the middle of the fairway, I ripped a phenomenal tee shot that finished about 13 feet from the hole. I did not need my partner, as I drained the eagle putt to mark our victory. (Regulation score was -2 btw.) Burger King tasted very good that day!
3. Raisin River Golf Course, West Course, Hole #18:
I was still in high school here, 17 at the time. Standing about 225 yards away from the green after my tee shot, I took my 5-wood out of the bag. I took a couple of practice swings, but did not expect much as I was playing terribly that day. I made great contact and watched a beautiful ball flight sail slightly left to right and land on the front edge of the green and roll to about 2 feet from the hole. I had a tap in putt for my first ever eagle.

This shot actually did not result in any phenomenal individual hole score interestingly enough. This hole has a tee shot over small amounts of water, and is a very straightforward 350 yard par 4. Well, I hit an atrocious drive that hit the water, but luckily skipped over onto dry soil. I was in some relatively deep rough, but could still make good contact with my ball luckily. However, about 15 yards in front of me was a good-sized tree, right between myself and the green. I decided the best play was to try and hook the ball around the tree and advance it down the fairway and basically play for a bogey. However, on this particular hole, I felt I did have a chance to pull off a miracle shot. I was playing well that day (minus the previous tee shot) and opted to take the 4-iron out of my bag. I imagined the shot I wanted to hit and the trajectory as well, and decided on the line I wanted to start my ball on. I made probably the best swing I have ever made in my life, and I watched the ball sail beautifully on line with where I aimed and watched it curve back to the left as I planned. The ball hit the green and finished about 10 feet from the hole. A 220-yard 4-iron from the rough around a tree to within birdie range! Of course I missed the putt, but I think I will have a hrad time ever pulling off a shot that was that well executed.

This course was my home course for high school. I am very thankful for my assistant coach there, who saw “incredible potential” in my swing in 10th grade. I had only played 6 times by that point and was shooting low 50s for 9 holes. I was basically allowed on the team, but did not even play JV, I got to practice a ton though for free, which sprung me into action and I was able to improve dramatically over my time in high school, eventualy making #2 golfer on the varsity team. Anyways, on this particular fall day, I happened to take out my 7 iron on the 148-yard par 3. I hit it very well (well, for me at the time it was well hit) and it sailed over the green. I eyed my chip, which I had been working hard on improving, and figured once it began to roll it would break a little to the right. I aimed about a foot or so left of the flag and hit the exact spot I wanted to hit when I hit my chip and I watched it hit the ground, bounce twice, and roll. It began to slow down, take the break, and fall into the hole for my first ever birdie!! It was quite an experience.

IBERIAN GOLF TOUR UNETHICAL ORGANISATION, having seen this new website promoting the Iberian Golf Tour i was stunned to see that the organisers of this tour are the same people who 2 years ago took membership fees from myself and several other Professional golfers under the banner of the PGA of Portugal and a company called BestGolf, no tournaments ever took place and we never got a refund, from the PGA of Portugal or Bestgolf, we find this highly unethical and a serious breach of code of conduct, we sincerly hope that other Professional golfers will take note of our warnings and keep well clear from this parodie of a winter series golf tour, latest addition to this blog still no reply to any of our emails to best golf or the Pga of Portugal as of the 12/10/2009 this just goes to show the apathy of the situation and the total non respect for the Profession of the Professional golfer, these people are obviously just out to make a quick buck again, then dissapear for a few years like the last time.
