Tonight! The Stars Revolt

19 10 2008

I started playing some Stars to get some things set up and am gonna be playing 50nl until I can get all money over to Stars, which should not be too long.  I’d rather be comfortable with the amount I have in that account for right now, which seems sille, since I have an entire roll, which will be there soon, but all the same, being comfortable is a big part of successful poker.  So far so good, as I am really enjoying the software so much more than AP, that in and of itself is like getting a new toy.

One thing that I noticed that is pretty interesting that is not normal with my game is the flop aggression factor, which of course leads to a very high aggression factor.  I am pretty sure this is a result of taking stabs in lots of limped pots that I am taking down pretty successfully.  This is something that a couple of people have told me to do more of and it is working out well so far, really helping to balance failed cbets and whatnot.

I played for an hour in the group sweat session that Probability runs for the 1-on-1 students.  Pretty good group of people, I expect to learn a good bit and it is nice the he does this for his students imo.  I broke even, but played kinda meh imo, as I really did not particularly wanna play, since I was not even sure I was invited to the session, since I have only had one lesson so far.  My goal for my friend who does vids for me and for Matt is to not make the mistakes pointed out to me in the next video I make for a review.  Little adjustments over time will stick better and will help to improve my game.

Michigan loses a heartbreaker to PSU.  I say heartbreaker in the sense that if you watched the game and not the score, it was pretty close for quite a while, and it wasn’t until Threet had to leave the game that PSU pulled away.  I still think PSU would have won though, but what this does it gives me hope for the future, as it looks like Michigan will be back in the top of the Big Ten and the national level fairly soon, maybe 2010.  This weekend is a huge game between PSU and OSU, can’t believe I am saying this but go Nittany Lions!  lol  Man, I hate Ohio State.

Tennessee won 34-3, but that game is kinda deceiving as well.  A late garbage score and two defensive TDs make the game look very lopsided.  The reality though is that they will get crushed in another big game this week, Alabama @ Tennessee or The Third Saturday in October.  Biggest rivalry for Tennessee, which is my alma mater as many of you know.  I am hoping in a weird way that Tennessee gets waxed, because I really, really want Fulmer out of the orange and white.  The remaining games are Alabama, @ South Carolina, Wyoming (HC), @ Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.  I can see Tennessee losing 2 of those games for sure, maybe 3, which would without question lead to a Fulmer firing imo.

The Lions lost again.  I am not surprised, but have hope since Millen is gone.  Yay for 2008, the most successful season of the Lions in a decade!

Okay, so not the same song as the blog title, sue me.  I felt the Stars comment more appropriate.  lol  This is “Neckbone” by Powerman 5000 from the Mega!! Kung Fu Radio album, I loved so much back in 1994.  Hard to believe the singer is Rob Zombie’s little brother eh?
